Your core responsibilities will involve combining practical assessments of fraud, bribery, and corruption risks with robust, evidence-led reviews to ensure the integrity of operations.
You will collaborate closely with business owners to scope and facilitate proportionate FRAs, challenging assumptions about potential fraud scenarios and existing controls, and clearly articulating residual risks. This role is pivotal in shaping assurance priorities, strengthening evidence standards, and ensuring effective follow-through on corrective actions to mitigate identified risks across various business areas.
Requirements
- Proven experience leading substantial risk, assurance, controls, or audit-response work across several business areas.
- Demonstrated capability to lead proportionate Fraud Risk Assessments (FRAs) confidently, adapting judgment and transferable skills.
- Ability to work with teams to identify realistic fraud, bribery, and corruption scenarios, assess vulnerabilities and controls, and explain residual risks.
- Experience in directing risk-based assurance programmes, including control testing, sampling, and evidence quality standards.
- Strong communication and challenge skills, capable of presenting balanced assessments of control confidence and escalating matters as needed.
- Applicants must either have the right to work in the UK or be eligible for a Skilled Worker (Tier 2) visa, as sponsorship is available for this role.
Benefits
- A generous employer pension contribution of 28.97% through the Civil Service Pension Scheme.
- 25 days of annual leave, increasing to 30 days after 5 years of service, plus 8 bank holidays and a privilege day.
- Flexible working arrangements including hybrid working, part-time, or compressed hours to support work-life balance.
- Access to a £1k per person learning budget for professional development, including conferences, professional accreditations, and e-learning.
- Compassionate maternity, adoption, and shared parental leave policies, offering up to 26 weeks leave at full pay.
