Asecos Ltd is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager in Derby, Derbyshire. This full-time role is ideal for UK-based applicants with existing right-to-work, though foreign applicants may still enquire directly with the employer. The position offers a competitive salary of £45,000 – £50,000 and the opportunity to develop business across the Central UK region.
Job Description
In this role, you will be instrumental in expanding asecos's presence across the Central UK. Reporting directly to the UK Sales Director, you will strategically develop sales through a dual approach: nurturing relationships with existing dealers and distributors, and directly engaging with end-users.
While you will inherit an established portfolio of business and customer relationships, this is more than just account management. We are looking for a proactive individual with a strong commercial drive to identify and capitalise on new opportunities, significantly contributing to our growth objectives in the territory.
Requirements
- Demonstrable experience as a commercially driven Business Development Manager.
- Proven ability to develop sales through both channel partners and direct engagement.
- Strong understanding of the Central UK market.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Self-motivated with a track record of achieving sales targets.
- Applicants must have existing right-to-work in the UK.
Benefits
- Competitive salary range of £45,000 – £50,000.
- Opportunity to work with an established and reputable company.
- Responsibility for a key sales territory with growth potential.
- Supportive team environment.
- Professional development opportunities.
How to Prepare
For Nigerian and African immigrants targeting a Business Development Manager role in the UK, it’s crucial to present your experience in a way that resonates with UK employers. Emphasise any transferable skills in sales, client relationship management, and market expansion, especially if you have experience with international or diverse client bases. Ensure your CV is polished, concise, and follows a UK format, highlighting quantifiable achievements rather than just duties. A strong LinkedIn profile, optimised with relevant keywords and showcasing your professional network, will also be highly beneficial.
While this role prefers UK-based applicants with right-to-work, if you are a foreign applicant without current UK status but possess exceptional, directly relevant experience, your cover letter is vital. Use it to briefly acknowledge the sponsorship status while strongly pitching your unique value proposition, demonstrating how your skills and experience perfectly align with the role's demands and how you could quickly integrate into the UK business environment. Highlight any UK-recognised professional qualifications or certifications that enhance your credibility.
- Tailor your CV to UK standards, focusing on quantifiable sales achievements.
- Optimise your LinkedIn profile for UK recruiters, showcasing your commercial acumen.
- Craft a compelling cover letter that addresses the role's requirements and, if applicable, your visa status.
- Prepare for interviews by researching asecos Ltd and the Central UK market.
- If inquiring as a foreign applicant, clearly state your eligibility or lack thereof and your commitment to securing the necessary right-to-work if the employer is open to it.
Visa Sponsorship & Foreigner Eligibility
Visa sponsorship is NOT advertised for this position. The employer explicitly prefers UK-based applicants with existing right-to-work. Foreign applicants (non-UK residents) may still make an enquiry directly with the employer to confirm their eligibility and any potential for sponsorship, though it is not guaranteed. If your status is borderline, it is always best to clarify directly with asecos Ltd before applying.
We'll show you our communities first, then take you to the employer's site.
