Job Description

As a Residential Worker, you will be based in a five-bedded home in Colchester, supporting young people aged 11-17 who have experienced trauma. Your main focus will be on providing nurturing therapeutic care, essentially acting as a parent figure, navigating the unique daily experiences that come with this vital role.

You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, committing to 37 hours per week across a mixture of early (7:00 am – 2:30 pm) and late (2:00 pm – 9:30 pm) shifts, including weekend rotations with every other weekend off. Requirements

• Applicants must be at least 21 years old to undertake this post.
• Ability/willingness to understand and manage challenging behaviour, including aggression and violence, using de-escalation techniques.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Open-minded, flexible, and adaptable attitude, with the ability to manage challenges calmly and patiently.
• Willingness to complete a Level 3 Diploma within two years of successful probation if not already held.
