Job Description

As a Data Engineer focusing on Financial Engineering, you will be instrumental in designing scalable and robust systems. Your primary responsibility will be to transform large-scale consumption and royalty data into accurate payout mechanisms, ensuring financial precision.

  • Proven experience in designing, building, and maintaining robust data pipelines.
  • Proficiency with modern data warehousing solutions and ETL processes.
  • Strong understanding of financial data principles and experience with consumption and royalty data.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a remote setting.
  • Applicants must possess existing right-to-work in the UK to be considered for this position.

Benefits

  • Highly competitive contract salary of £130,000 – £196,820.

How to Prepare

For this Tech role, Nigerian and African immigrants should focus on presenting a highly polished CV that clearly highlights relevant data engineering experience in a UK-recognised format. Emphasise any projects involving large-scale data processing, financial data, or scalable system design, ensuring your skills align with the specific requirements of a Data Engineer role. Your LinkedIn profile should also be meticulously updated to reflect these experiences and be tuned towards UK tech recruiters, showcasing your professional network and endorsements.

While this role prefers UK-based applicants with right-to-work, if you are a foreign applicant without existing UK status, your application should still clearly articulate your transferable skills and any UK-recognised credentials or certifications. A concise cover letter can be used to briefly address your immigration status and express your keen interest, demonstrating how your expertise can immediately contribute to the role despite the sponsorship preference.

  • Update your CV to a UK-standard format, highlighting data engineering projects and achievements.
  • Optimise your LinkedIn profile to attract UK tech recruiters, showcasing relevant skills and connections.
  • Prepare a targeted cover letter explaining your suitability and addressing your right-to-work status.
  • Brush up on SQL, Python, and cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) skills, as these are common in UK data roles.
  • Gather professional references that can attest to your data engineering expertise and work ethic.

Visa Sponsorship & Foreigner Eligibility

Visa sponsorship is NOT advertised for this Data Engineer position, with Randstad Technologies preferring UK-based applicants who already possess the existing right-to-work. Foreign applicants (non-UK residents) may still apply, but it is crucial to confirm your eligibility and potential for sponsorship directly with the employer. If your status is borderline or you require sponsorship, it is advisable to explicitly state your situation and inquire about any exceptions or possibilities when you make contact.
