How to Prepare

For Nigerian and African immigrants eyeing a Classroom Assistant role in the UK, showcasing your relevant experience and understanding of the UK educational system is paramount. Ensure your CV highlights any experience working with children or in educational support roles, even if from abroad, and tailor it to a UK format. A clean Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check will be required, and having this ready or understanding the process will be beneficial.

Focus on transferable skills such as patience, communication, and your ability to support diverse learning needs. While this role primarily targets UK-based applicants, if you are a foreign applicant enquiring, clearly articulate your commitment to obtaining the necessary right-to-work and how your background aligns with the demands of a UK classroom assistant, particularly in Special Educational Needs.

  • Polish your CV to a UK standard, emphasising any educational or childcare experience.
  • Prepare for a DBS check, understanding it’s a standard requirement for roles involving children.
  • Highlight transferable skills like communication, empathy, and organisational abilities in your application.
  • Research the UK's SEN framework to demonstrate your understanding and commitment.
  • If enquiring as a foreign applicant, clearly state your current status and proactive steps to secure right-to-work.

Visa Sponsorship & Foreigner Eligibility

Visa sponsorship is NOT advertised for this Classroom Assistant position. The employer, Rapid Hire Recruitment Ltd T/A Kenect Recruitment, explicitly prefers UK-based applicants who already possess the existing right-to-work. Foreign applicants (non-UK residents) may still apply but must confirm their eligibility and potential pathways with the employer directly before applying to avoid disappointment.
